Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

A dental implant has to be removed, and the new implant will take its place after the healing process. Reimplantation failure is measured by "parts per thousand" and it's extremely rare. It goes without saying that our patients should pay for successfully osseointegrated dental implants ONLY.

When we speak of augmentation, we actually speak of replacing lost bone volume. Namely, with removing teeth and the healing of the wound, a reduction of bone tissue is possible which as a consequence has bone resorption.

With augmentation it is possible to return the bone volume which is of great importance regarding the continuance of the treatment which includes the instalment of implants. It is important to have in mind that after the augmentation procedure or the instalment of bone, it is necessary to wait at least eight months in order for the connecting process to finish so that the implants can be installed.

Veneers are a thin transparent replacement in the shape of a shell and that is how they got their name. Veneers are attached to the front area of the tooth and therefore completely matches the natural tooth. They solve a variety of orthodontic anomalies or they change color of teeth or they increase the volume of teeth.

Implant placement is performed under local anesthesia. The procedure is completely painless. The titanium screw is incorporated in the bone and is then allowed to grow tightly with the bone for 3-6 months. This process is called osseointegration and is necessary for the stability and durability of the implant.

All of our patients are provided with a temporary solution. Now days it is unthinkable to be toothless both for social and professional reasons, even for the shortest period of time. It would be ideal if the patient could be provided with permanent teeth instantly. However, this is only possible if primary stability can be achieved during implant placement, which again depends on the condition of the bone and can be determined only during the procedure.

The minimum tooth reduction by grinding - approximately 0.5 mm, much less than grinding for crown

Extremely natural look - porcelain imitates natural tooth and reflects light in the same way, and therefore veneer shines the same as a natural tooth

They do not get any darker - veneers do not change color because their surface is as smooth as glass

They are the most gentle procedure for gums - there is no inflammation or withdrawal of the gums

A frenulectomy is recommended for those patients who have a gap between their upper front teeth and if the fraenulum makes closing the gap difficult or impossible.

With a fixed orthodontic device, it is possible to close the gap between the teeth and after the finished orthodontic therapy; the patient is advised to a frenulectomy.

Another frequent situation is that during the receding of the lower gums which is a consequence of a highly spread fraenulum between the teeth of the lower jaw. A frenulectomy in that case will stop the receding of the gums.

A frenulectomy is also an oral surgical procedure performed under local aesthetic and is painless for the patient

Halitosis can be caused by a number of different agents. In most cases (80-90%) bad breath originates in the mouth itself. Mouth anaerobic bacteria are to blame (bacteria able to live without oxygen). They produce detectable foul gases that are a result of breaking of certain amino acids. These gases are associated with oral malodors and bad breath. The bacteria are generally positioned in the sub-gingival niches and on the upper surface of the tongue.

Stomach diseases rarely cause halitosis.

With an optimal oral hygiene and targeted therapy for inflamed gums and periodontitis, problems with bad breath will be resolved automatically, if of course, there is no other cause of bad breath.

Decayed baby teeth should be filled even though they will one day be replaced by permanent teeth. If there are unhealthy baby teeth in the oral cavity, the permanent ones that are erupting are more susceptible to caries.

These lesions cover the front milky teeth and in a short time completely destroy their crown to the gums. Bottle caries is caused by poor oral hygiene and frequent intake of sweet drinks (juices or teas), most often from the bottle, in the evening before bedtime or during the day. Child should not be given these drinks before bedtime. Sweet drinks should be used rarely and only during meals because they stimulate salivation. Child should drink mostly water in between meals, and sweet and soft drinks should be avoided.
